Robert Henderson, MD
Practice Doctor
A native of Birmingham, Dr. Robert Henderson received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of Alabama in 1995. He then graduated under academic scholarship from The University of South Alabama Medical School in 2000 as a member of the AOA Honor Medical Society. In 2004, Dr. Henderson completed his dermatology residency at Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
Dr. Henderson is skilled at treating all skin diseases including skin cancer surgery. As the founder of Dermatologists of Birmingham in 2006, he strives to ensure all patients receive excellent and compassionate care in a welcoming environment.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Henderson enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and two children.
Gregory Bourgeois, MD
Practice Doctor
Dr. Gregory Bourgeois was born and raised in South Louisiana where he graduated summa cum laude from Louisiana State University in Biological Sciences. He obtained his MD from UAB School of Medicine. After completing an Internship in Internal Medicine at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, he returned home for his Dermatology residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where he served as Chief Resident. During residency, he was awarded an American Society for Dermatologic Surgery preceptorship to perform concentrated study in laser and cosmetic dermatology under renowned surgical dermatologists in Boston.
He has had research published in many prestigious dermatology journals and has presented dermatologic research at numerous academic meetings. Dr. Bourgeois is trained in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology with special interest in using lasers to treat a variety of skin conditions. He and his wife have five children.
Marian Northington, MD

Dr. Northington is now Double Board Certified in Dermatology and Mohs Surgery!
Dr. Marian Northington grew up in Florence, Alabama and graduated from University of Alabama summa cum laude with a major in biology and minor in psychology. She then graduated from University of Alabama at Birmingham with AOA honors. After completing an internship in internal medicine at UAB, she then completed a dermatology residency at UAB.
Dr. Northington was accepted into a highly distinguished fellowship in San Diego with one of the world’s most innovative, talented cosmetic dermatologists and laser surgeons, Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick. Dr. Northington was able to spend a year with Dr. Fitzpatrick and his colleagues to develop her expertise in laser resurfacing, laser treatments for vascular and pigmented lesions, injectables such as soft tissue fillers, and botulinum toxin, Mohs surgery and other dermatologic surgery and liposuction.
Dr. Northington moved back to Alabama after the fellowship and returned to UAB as the Director of Cosmetic Dermatology. She was able to teach and give national lectures on cosmetic dermatologic procedures during her academic career.
