What to Expect from Kybella®

Your dermatologist uses a fine needle to inject the product in several locations to evenly distribute the deoxycholic acid. You may feel a slight prick of the needle followed by a very mild sensation of pressure as the solution fills the tissues. Any type of injection can produce symptoms, such as pinpoint bleeding, tenderness, and localized swelling and tenderness. If you experience these symptoms after your Kybella® injections, it may take 24 to 72 hours before the symptoms resolve.
A single treatment with Kybella® may require up to 50 injections, and you may need six or more treatments to eliminate the fat. Most patients achieve the desired fat reduction with two to four treatments. You should wait at least one month in between treatments.
